F2U offers an impressive variety of food and beverage options to students. There are over 120 items in the menu rotation that are prepared, packaged, and labeled by on-campus culinary teams. There are also nearly 100 bottled and canned beverages are offered through Fresh·2U locations!
After we determined the best disposable packaging options, I was tasked with devising a labeling system. With so many items, the task almost demanded automation. I chose the Data Merge utility in Adobe Indesign as the best route to input label data into the label the templates. The label background templates were completely created using Adobe illustrator.

 Products are offered to customers
via six unc charlotte cooler locations
I chose to use images instead of words to loosely indicate what each cooler was to contain. The orange cooler header indicates breakfast foods, the green Kale cooler indicates lunch foods, and the red tomato cooler indicates dinner foods.
Mockups help foster discussions about the overall customer experience & serve as a valuable visual reference
for everyone involved
During the development of the store experience, I created mockups of everything to pass along to stakeholders and for internal approval and feedback
A central goal of the project was to create a fun and inviting experience for customers at unc charlotte
The biggest challenge of this project was all of the moving pieces. Coordinating with the nutrition team to ensure we have all the label nutrition data points in a format ready for input to the label designs. Communicating with the contractors to get dimensions and plans for each location. Creating comps and mock-ups for the store and label graphics & presenting and winning approval from stakeholders.
This project helped me grow dramatically as a graphic designer. It gives me a great sense of pride when I see a customer at UNC Charlotte contently munching on a Fresh·2U product; thinking to myself - I helped make that!
